After Aamir Khan, Kangana Ranaut Sets A Record In China
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi marked a turning point in Kangana Ranaut’s career. Not only did the actress put her heart and soul in the portrayal of the brave queen, she also made her directorial debut with the film. The film tells an important story from our history, something which not only Indians, but the entire world must witness. In another step to ensure that the film reaches out to maximum audience, the actor-director is now ready to take her labour of love to China.

Even during the making of the film, Producer Kamal Jain and Kangana had thought about taking the film to China, and had reportedly met Aamir Khan to understand the dynamics of the market. Manikarnika will be the first female led Bollywood film to release in China. “The film's release date is yet to be locked, but it will hit screens only post-April 15”, informed a trade source.

Reportedly, China is a great market for Bollywood films. As Manikarnika is a female-led film, it has an edge over (other offerings). To see a female warrior fighting Britishers would serve as exciting content for their market.

Kangana Ranaut is currently in Delhi, where she is shooting for her next, a sports drama titled Panga. Post that, she will dive into promotions of Mental Hai Kya, and then start work on Jayalalithaa biopic.
