Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Heading For A My Name Is Khan Scenario
They say history repeats itself. But never in his wildest dreams did Karan Johar think that he will be testament of the fact. In what can be termed as unfortunate, his upcoming film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which has been embroiled in controversy for a long time as it stars Pakistani actor Fawad Khan along with Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, is heading for the same scenario as his 2010 film, My Name Is Khan.

You may recall that Shiv Sena had asked for a ban on the Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer after the actor made remarks in favour of including Pakistani players in the IPL. At that time, the film hit theatres with police protection.

Now, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil will also have a thick security cover when it releases on Diwali. Yesterday Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) sent a threatening message to multiplex owners asking them to not showcase KJo’s movie (Oh No! MNS Gives A Final Warning To Multiplex Owners Days Before Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’s Release, Oct 18). Fearing for the fate of the film, the rattled filmmaker knocked the door of the Film and Television Producers’ Guild, following which Mukesh Bhatt (President), Anupama Chopra, and a few members from Dharma Productions and Fox Star met the DCP, Ashok Dudhe, at Cuffe Parade this morning.

Post the hour-long meet, Dudhe said that Mumbai police will provide protection to theatres. He said, “Mumbai Police will provide adequate protection to cinema theatres as and when required.”

Mukesh Bhatt, President of the Film and Television Producers’ Guild, who was present at the meet said, “MNS is my brother, but we think differently. I can only appeal to my brother to maintain peace.”
