Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Banned In 4 States

There is fresh trouble for Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil that features Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan. The Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI) has decided that no films starring any Pakistani actors will be released in theatres.

Nitin Datar, President of the COEAI, said, “Keeping in mind the patriotic feeling and the national interest in mind, we request all our member exhibitors to refrain from screening movies which have involvement of any Pakistani artists, technicians, directors, music directors, etc. Till the relation between India and Pakistan becomes normal, no films with Pakistani actors can be released.”

The film, which is set to release next week on October 28, will not be screened in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Goa. The decision will be conveyed to other states as well.

When asked if Raees, that has Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, be allowed to release, he said, “We will see in the future. If the situation normalises, we will screen Raees. It’s not a decision we can take now.”

After the terror attack on Uri Army camp, in which 19 soldiers lost their lives, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had given a 48-hour ultimatum to Pakistani artistes to leave India or will be kicked out. It was reported that due to MNS' threat, Fawad Khan secretly flew back to Pakistan.

In an interview, Raj Thackeray had said, “We have asked the theatres to not release their movie, we must teach them a lesson, the producers are more at fault than those artistes.”
