Actor-Singer Suchitra Krishnamoorthi Receives Prompt Help From Cyber Cell After Facing Social Abuse
Suchitra Krishnamoorthi received vulgar messages on FaceBook and reports to Mumbai Police and Cyber Cell, later thanked them for their support
Singer- writer-actor Suchitra Krishnamoorthi falls prey to social media abuse, in terms of receiving vulgar messages on her social media account. She was left fuming as well as disappointed, post this encounter she questioned National Prime Prevention council & Maharashtra Cyber body for their work. Singer-actor shared a screenshot of this message received by her on FaceBook, posted it on her Twitter handle. To which Maharashtra Cyber body quickly replied and assured to have taken necessary steps. It was also sent to Mumbai police by her.
Her tweet read, “When someone claims to work on National Prime Prevention council & harasses women this way @MahaCyber1 @MumbaiPolice pls take note. This message was sent to me on @facebook !” To which Mumbai Police's Twitter handle replied, “Ma'am, we have already forwarded to our Social Media cell and Cyber police station for necessary intervention & action. Moreover, you can also Dial 100 or Tweet us, alternatively for prompt support.” They also tweeted, “We have followed you. Please DM us your contact details.” For this prompt reply and assurance for further action towards the culprit she thanked Mumbai police in her tweet as well. Her tweet read, “Thank you for prompt response. I wanted to bring it to ur notice thats all and i am not under any threat. If they can message me like this imagine the plight of young vulnerable girls on social media”

Suchitra’s last outing was John Abraham starrer 'Romeo Akbar Walter'. Yet another example was filmmaker Anurag Kashyap who got prompt reply from Mumbai Police and Maharashtra Cyber unit after he complained to have received death threat; with their help he filed an FIR as well.
