Abhay Deol Slams His Own Film Co-Starring Sonam Kapoor And Dhanush; Says Raanjhanaa Delivers A 'Regressive Message'
Versatile actor Abhay Deol slammed one of his films, Raanjhanaa co-starring Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor in the parallel lead. This Aanand L Rai helmed film was a huge hit when it was released and opened the door for South superstar Dhanush in Bollywood. Abhay in his latest Instagram post got our attention to one of the Instagram user’s observations and also asked his followers to give a thorough read at it. According to the actor this film will be looked as a regressive message conveying film many years from now.

Slamming the film in his Instagram post he shared a poster featuring Sonam and Dhanush and wrote, “History will not look kindly at this film for its regressive message. It’s been a theme in Bollywood for decades, where a boy can (and should), pursue a girl until she relents.” While in the film boy being madly in love with girl from small town stalking her 24/7 seems romance, in reality it is close to crime further leading to sexual violence, mentioned Abhay in his post.

“Only in cinema does she do that willfully. In reality we have seen time and again that it leads to sexual violence of some sort. Glorifying it on screen only leads to blaming the victim, as @oldschoolrebel9 explains it so brilliantly.”
