In a candid conversation with Rhea Chakraborty on her podcast, Aamir Khan opened up about his unexpected decision to quit the film industry, a move that left his family and team in shock. The actor, who has been a prominent figure in Bollywood for over three decades, revealed that he was ready to step away from the limelight to prioritize spending more time with his family, particularly with his then-wife Kiran Rao and their children. However, his decision wasn't met with the approval he expected. Aamir recounted how his family reacted to his announcement. He shared that when he first told them about his plan to quit films, they were incredulous. His family, including his children, couldn't believe that someone so deeply immersed in cinema for the past 30 years would just walk away. They assumed he was being overly emotional and would eventually change his mind. Despite their initial disbelief, they didn’t press the issue, choosing to nod along with his decision. But the real shock came when Aamir informed his production team, which included Kiran Rao, that he no longer needed the company because he was done making films. He encouraged them to continue without him, but their reaction was one of deep disappointment. Aamir reflected on Kiran's emotional response to his decision.
