Aamir Khan Bats For PM Narendra Modi’s New Initiative, Urges Fans To Ditch Single-Use Plastic
Aamir Khan comes out in the support of PM Narendra Modi and his new revolution of banning single-use plastic
It was on August 25 that the Prime Minister of India – Narendra Modi – announced a “new mass movement” in order to get rid of the single-use plastic, which shall come into effect on October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. His initiative has received a positive response from a lot of people, and, now, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan too has come forward to support PM Modi. The Dangal actor took to his social media and shared a long post, wherein he not only lauded the initiative but also urged his fans to abide by the same.
Aamir Khan, in his note, wrote, “The initiative by Honourable PM to curb ‘single-use plastic’ is an effort all of us should strongly support. It’s up to each of us to make sure we stop using ‘single-use plastic.” Earlier, PM Narendra Modi, in his speech requested the citizens of India to start a “new revolution” by stopping the use of single plastic from October 2.

In his announcement, PM Modi was quoted saying, “This year, when we celebrate Bapu's 150th birth anniversary, we shall not only dedicate to him an India that is Open Defecation Free but shall also lay the foundation of a new revolution against plastic, by people themselves, throughout the country. Let us celebrate Gandhi Jayanti this year as a mark of plastic-free Mother India. Let us celebrate October 2 as a special day.”
Further, he added that the corporate sector should come up with effective solutions for the proper disposal of all the accumulated plastic.
