Aamir Khan Applauded By Maharashtra Government For NOT Releasing Dangal In Pakistan

The government of Maharashtra passed a resolution congratulating Aamir Khan for not releasing Dangal (2016) in Pakistan. Leader of Opposition Dhananjay Munde lead the resolution. The government is very happy with Aamir Khan’s decision and his thought. Therefore, the star has received applaud from the Maharashtra government.

Aamir Khan’s stand on the issue made headlines throughout yesterday.

For all those who have come in late, Thursday evening Aamir announced that he wouldn't release his last film Dangal in Pakistan because the Censor Board there was asking the Indian National Anthem and the Indian National Flag to be chopped off from the final cut of the film releasing in Pakistan.

Aamir being the staunch patriot refused to let that happen, as he too was one of the producers of the film, and without his consent the movie couldn't be screened in the neighbouring country. Aamir said that the showing of the Indian National Flag and the playing of National Anthem weren't in bad taste and should be allowed by the Pakistani Censor Board.

Aamir would have to bear a considerable amount of loss in terms of the revenue earned from films released in Pakistan. He has a huge star power in Pakistan and his past films like PK (2014) and Dhoom: 3 (2013) have been massively successful there. Had Dangal released in Pakistan, it would have been received with a similar appreciation.

If we recall, Indian films had been stopped from screening in Pakistan ever since their actors were banned from acting in Indian movies.
