On Monday, we had reported that Ishaan Khatter would be starring in Mira Nair's next directorial venture which will be an adaptation of Vikram Seth's, A Suitable Boy. Today, Shahid Kapoor's brother Ishaan announces his project on Instagram along with Tabu and Tanya Maniktala. It is said that the project will go on the floors from next month.
Taking it to his Instagram account, he wrote a note saying, "Elated to announce that I’ll be playing Maan Kapoor in @pagliji ’s and @bbcone ‘s official adaptation of Vikram Seth’s ‘A Suitable Boy’. It’s not only my pleasure but an honour to be working on this illustrious material alongside such distinguished artists and technicians led by the indomitable Mira Nair. I hope I can satisfy her vision and give the global audience the character they deserve in Maan."
While talking to Mumbai Mirror, Ishaan said, "I hope I can satisfy Mira’s vision and give the global audience the character they deserve in Maan Kapoor (his character)" Tabu was also quoted saying, "Having worked with Mira previously in The Namesake, I am looking forward to another creatively challenged experience."
Talking about the movie, the report also says, the novel is about a spirited university where a student Lata (played by Tanya Maniktala, earlier seen in the TV series Flames), coming of age in North India in 1951, at the time when the country is going to the polls for its first democratic general elections. While her mother is determined to find her a husband, Lata embarks on her own journey of love and self-discovery.
