Anurag
Kashyap’s Manmarziyaan has been receiving backlash over the smoking scenes in
the film. Although they have been now chopped from the movie and Anurag even
confirmed the same with a witty tweet, the scenes had allegedly ‘hurt religious
sentiments of Sikh community” and The Sikh Sangat of Ambala had threatened to
file an FIR against the makers.
While the
film is being appreciated by movie buffs, still since the release of the movie,
the cast of the film Taapsee Pannu, Abhishek Bachchan and Vicky Kaushal are
receiving hatred on social media by a section of people. So much so, that a
twitterati recently abused and threatened the actress by saying if she was his
daughter he would have beaten her with a belt.
The user
tweeted against Taapse, however deleted it later. According to a leading
website, the tweet read, “I swear i wish i was her father, all i need is my
belt and a jutti. Shittar mar mar ke I would of taken the actress vala bhoot
out from her."
To which Taapsee replied,
I already feel bad for your kids. God give them strength to live. https://t.co/jbGmqZisOu

No religion allows violence. Nothing in this world justifies what this man has said. The more I read this the more it fuels anger towards this crass thought process. Who gives any man the authority to raise their hand on someone and make them decide what they should do or not do. https://t.co/o8XQJWPWsh

Taapsee’s
co-star Vicky Kaushal and actor Arjun Kapoor too came out in support for her
and slammed the troll. Vicky replied to his tweet saying, “Dharam da maan rakhna
jaande ho, apni thee da nahi. Phaaji bohot maan rakh laya apne Guruaan da ehe
gal karke” While Namaste England actor’s tweet read, “No religion allows
violence. Nothing in this world justifies what this man has said. The more I
read this the more it fuels anger towards this crass thought process. Who gives
any man the authority to raise their hand on someone and make them decide what
they should do or not do.”
