‘Tridev’ REMAKE: Director Rajiv Rai SHUTS DOWN Rumours Of Collaboration With Salman Khan: ‘I’m Not Inclined Towards Doing Remakes’
Director Rajiv Rai, in a recent interview, mentioned that Tridev is not going to be remade with Salman Khan as he is not much interested in remakes
Lately, most Bollywood films are remakes of the South films and even Salman Khan has appeared in the remake of south films like ‘Wanted’ and ‘Ready’. Now, it is being speculated that Dabangg Khan is making another remake, but this time of a blockbuster Bollywood film of 1989 ‘Tridev’ which featured Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Naseeruddin Shah, and was directed by Rajiv Rai.
In a recent interview, the director dismissed the reports of the remake.
In a recent interaction, Rajiv Rai revealed that he is not much interested in remakes. He was quoted saying, “I’m not inclined towards doing remakes whether mine or outside films. That’s not my scene. So I am reluctant to even consider remakes. I’ve had offers, though.”
Meanwhile, Rai mentioned that two years ago Salman had approached him about producing ‘Tridev’ and not acting in it. The senior director said, “Two years ago Salman had discussed this with me. It was never about him acting in Tridev. When Salman suggested that he and I co-produce Tridev – this was during pre-pandemic days, I didn’t want to disregard the proposal simply because he’s a very close and old friend of mine. When the pandemic happened, the project took a backseat and I continued with what I was doing. “
Interestingly, the ‘Mohra’ director even mentioned that he doesn’t have any plans for ‘Tridev’ to be remade as he has many stories to work on. The 67-year-old director quipped, “I don’t think Tridev will happen, and I have many stories lined up. Tridev was merely at a discussion stage. And it was about me and Salman co-producing. Right now I’m shooting my own small-budget film with newcomers in Jaipur.”
