Bollywood's first female superstar Sridevi is till date loved and adored by all. While fans are still mourning her death, they have been patiently waiting for her family to open up about the mystery surrounding her passing. Shedding light on the same, her husband, producer Boney Kapoor recently revealed that she used to starve herself so that she looked good on-screen, which led to her having constant blackouts.
During a recent interview with the YouTube channel, The New Indian, he made some shocking revelations about his wife and her sudden passing. Expressing how her death wasn't a natural one but accidental, the filmmaker explained why he chose to maintain his silence surrounding her death for the last few years. Shedding light on the same he revealed that he decided not to speak about the incident as he had spoken about it for "almost 24 or 48 hours together when I was being investigated and interrogated." Explaining how the officers heavily investigated him because there "was a lot of pressure from Indian media," he said they found no foul play.
The 67-year-old filmmaker went on to recall how he had to go through a lot of tests, including a lie detector test. Pointing out the fact that Sridevi's death was indeed accidental, he went on to recall how she was always on a strict diet and would always starve herself to look good. So Much so that she would often black out.
Quoted by Bollywood Shaadis, Kapoor said, "She often used to starve; she wanted to look good. She wanted to make sure she’s in good shape, so that on-screen, she looks good. From the time she was married to me, she had blackouts on a couple of occasions, and the doctor kept on saying she had a low BP issue. Unfortunately, she didn’t take this seriously, and she also thought maybe it can’t be this serious until the incident happened."
For the unversed, the late actress married producer Boney Kapoor at the peak of her career. She proudly brought up both her daughters Janhvi and Khushi. While the elder sibling has established herself as a credible actor, the younger one will soon make her much awaited debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies.
Sridevi’s career spanned over five decades. She breathed her last due to accidental drowning when she was in Dubai attending her nephew, actor Mohit Marwah’s wedding. Speaking of which, the producer had announced the launch of Sridevi’s autobiography 'The Life Of A Legend.'
