‘Khana Hai Ya Birdfeed’: Anurag Kashyap Recalls An Actor’s Demand For A Chef That Charges Rs 2 Lakh Per Day
Anurag Kashyap wondered why producers allow actors who have expensive demands on the sets of their film
Filmmaker and actor Anurag Kashyap is currently being showered with praises by the audience for his antagonistic performance in Bad Cop. Being one of the most sought-after filmmakers, he never shies away from expressing himself and opening up about his personal and professional experiences. Having shed light on the rising entourage cost of the actors on the sets of the film, earlier, he has now spoken about the unreasonable demands made by certain actors. He also wondered why producers allow actors who have expensive demands on the sets of their films.
As reported by the Free Press Journal, the 51-year-old filmmaker, without taking the names of the actors, revealed that certain celebrities demand chefs that charge up to Rs 2 lakhs per day. Talking about the “ridiculous demand,” he elaborated, “To make food that looks like ye khana hai ya birdfeed. Itna chhota sa aata tha.” He went on to add that the certain actor had health issues which is why they could only have the food cooked by the chef. ALSO READ: WHAT! The Gangs Of Wasseypur director revealed that there are hair and makeup artists who charge Rs 75,000 per day, which is more than the technicians’ income. He jokingly revealed that he should have chosen to become a hair and makeup artist. Blaming the producers for entertaining the actors’ ridiculous demands, he stated, “It's the fault of the producers and their agents. I don't know why the producers allow it on their sets. On the work front, Anurag Kashyap is currently enjoying the release of Bad Cop, co-starring Gulshan Devaiah, and his Tamil film Maharaja, co-starring Vijay Sethupati. While the former was released on Disney+ Hotstar, the latter was released on the big screens. The film has been receiving praises from the critics as well as the audiences from all over the nation.
