“I’m Not A Visual Director Like Sanjay Leela Bhansali,” Says Sooraj Barjatya On Komal Nahta’s Podcast Game Changers
The film trade analyst Komal Nahta's podcast Game Changers has kept the audience hooked with its interesting episodes. With interactive and insightful conversations featuring renowned personalities from the entertainment world, it has captivated audiences and garnered tremendous appreciation. In the latest episode, filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya candidly referred to himself as a "selfish director."

When trade analyst Komal Nahta on his podcast Game Changers questioned Barjatya on making selected films a year and also the reason behind being less visible to the audience through his films. This is what the filmmaker had to say, "As a director, Komalji, I am very selfish. Unless and until I’m ready, I don't want to start.”

Speaking about characterization, and devoting his time on the craft, Barjatya revealed, “Unless I don’t find every single character, and I’m ready, for every song, I don’t rely on any choreographer. I sit, I picturize, I do, I want everything written down. Komal Ji, I’m not a visual director like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, he is a master. I’m essentially a storyteller. What is going to be picturized on every beat is important to me.”

Despite working on movies, the filmmaker is also busy with OTT shows and several other projects, “So that's why it takes 5 or 6 years to make a film. I'm trying now to make a movie in 3 years. And we are doing TV shows, OTT also started. As it takes time, whether it's a hit or a flop, the feeling is that it's worth it to the banner," he concluded.

With Game Changers, Komal Nahta is set to redefine the landscape of Indian cinema conversations. Tune in to the YouTube channel for Game Changers!
