"I Am Totally Fine," Shahid Kapoor Quashes Rumours Of Stomach Cancer

There have been whispers past few days pointing finger at Shahid Kapoor’s health. The hush-hush has been that the Jab We Met star has contracted cancer. However, we are now relieved to learn that it is all hogwash. Shahid Kapoor has finally confirmed that he is doing absolutely fine and there is no truth to the rumours.

Shahid took to Twitter to update about his health status. He wrote, "Guys I’m totally fine pl don’t believe random stuff."

Meanwhile, Ashwin Varde, producer of Kabir Singh, which is Kapoor’s next project, also confirmed to Bombay times that Shahid is absolutely fine. He told the daily, “Last weekend, we headed off to Lonavla for shooting action scenes for ‘Kabir Singh’. It was a four-five-day stint and we shot for about 12-15 hours every day. The shooting was intense, and would go on for long hours. Shahid had some difficult action scenes to film and he pulled them very well. After that, he wanted a few days off to spend with his kids and wife Mira. He took off to Delhi with them and will be back in Mumbai on Monday, December 10. He’s fine.” Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Sonali Bendre have all been keeping unwell since the past few month and this rumour about Shahid had only added to the gloom. However, it seems now it’s a case of ‘All is well that ends well’.

Further, when Ashwin was prodded about Shahid’s rumoured London visit, co-producer told the leading website, “He’s got a lot of work to finish on Kabir Singh. He has a look-change in the film and he will have to undergo a lot of tests before we finalise the next look for him. Usually, everyone in the industry slips into holiday-mode post the 20th of December and that goes on till a few days after the New Year kicks in. So, we are also resuming our shooting schedule in Delhi in the first week of January, once the holiday period is over. We also have to finalise our locations in Delhi, which includes colleges. So, we’re on schedule and there has been no delay or cancellation from Shahid’s end.”

Shahid’s last film Batti Gul Meter Chalu sank without a trace. However 37-year-old actor took to shooting Kabir Singh without a break, clearly hinting that he was fit and not dejected. Shahid's timely clarification has saved the media from a situation where reports are trusted and shared without any thought.
