‘Being An Outsider Is Not A Weakness’: Kartik Aaryan Opens Up About Mental Health Issues Dealt By ‘Outsiders’ In Bollywood
Kartik Aaryan opened up about the challenges and pressure faced by the ‘outsiders’ in Bollywood and how it still affects his mental health
Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has made a name for himself in the Hindi entertainment industry with his versatile performances. Having gained popularity among the masses because of his rant-monologue in Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2. He went on to become one of the most sought-after leading actors in the industry. He recently opened up about the challenges and pressure faced by the ‘outsiders’ in Bollywood and how it still affects his mental health.
Talking about the pressure he has faced in getting key roles when he first started his career, Kartik expressed how it was difficult to get opportunities when one is not from the industry. Quoted by the Free Press Journal, he told GQ, “It’s harder to get the opportunities, or your work recognized when you’re not from the industry, and that does end up affecting you. The 33-year-old actor expressed how he aims to break the stigma around mental health issues faced by ‘outsiders’ in Bollywood and inspire them by talking about his struggles. The Chandu Champion actor said, “I have, in the past, thought about how different my career would have looked had I received the same sort of treatment as someone who’s always had a foot in the door. It’s taken a lot of introspection and inner work to realize that being an outsider is not a weakness. Everything that I have done so far is a product of my own hard work.” ALSO READ: Well Done! On the work front, Kartik Aaryan was last seen in Chandu Champion. The Kabir Khan directorial is based on the life of India’s first Paralympic gold medallist, Murlikant Petkar. He will be next seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, with Vidya Balan and Triptii Dimri, Aashiqui 3, and Captain India. If reports are to be believed, he was approached by Sooraj Barjatya for a new film.
