‘Adipurush’ Lands In LEGAL Trouble, FIR Lodged Against Makers, Producers And Actors Of Prabhas-Starrer Over Insulting Hindu Sentiments-Report
Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer ‘Adipurush’ has been making headlines ever since it hit the theatres. Despite roaring at the box office, Om Raut’s directorial has been embroiled in controversies owing to its dialogues and the language used in the film based on the Hindu epic Ramayana. Now as per the latest reports, the makers and actors of ‘Adipurush’ have landed in legal trouble as FIR has been registered with the Hazratganj police.

The national spokesperson of the Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha, Shishir Chaturvedi has filed a FIR with the Hazratganj police against the makers and the star cast of the film. In his complaint, he stated that the movie was a deliberate attempt to insult Hindu sentiments by distorting the images of Hindu gods with offensive dialogues, and costumes. He even mentioned that filmmakers did not have the courage to make films related to religious heads of other religions. Amid a row over 'Adipurush' and Sita's place of birth, Kathmandu has banned Indian films screenings. Mayor Balen Shah's Secretariat told Online Khabar, “All 17 film halls have been told not to screen Indian films.” Even many actors like Kangana Ranaut and Arun Govil, who played Lord Rama in Ramanand Sagar’s classic television adaptation of the Ramayana, criticized the film. Talking about the negative reviews of the film, director Om Raut in a recent interview asserted that only fools claim to fully understand the Ramayana. He told Republic TV, “If I kind of sit down and tell you that I have understood the drama, I think it will be a serious error, because nobody, I feel, has the capacity to understand Ramayana. Whatever Ramayana that I have understood, whatever little bit you know, it’s like a squirrel’s contribution. That little bit that I have understood of the Ramayana is something that I’ve tried to portray onto celluloid.”

Starring Prabhas in the role of Lord Ram and Kriti as Sita, Adipurush was released on 16th June and the film has crossed Rs 200 crore mark within the first two days of its release.
