Being an avid social media user, filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma often takes to his official social media handles to share his opinions on the ongoing happenings in the entertainment industries. Having worked with Amitabh Bachchan in several films, he recently took to his official social media handle to share an old magazine cover from 34 years ago which announced Amitabh Bachchan as a ‘finished’ actor.

The filmmaker gave a shout-out to the veteran actor’s illustrious Bollywood career and called out the now-shut down media publication for their dig at Sr Bachchan. Sharing the 1990 magazine cover on his X (formerly known as Twitter) handle, he penned a strong note. On the magazine cover of Illustrated Weekly, the Baghban actor is seen leaning against a wall in a beige outfit with the words “FINISHED!” stamped across it in red and black. 

Saring the poster, RGV wrote, “34 years back ILLUSRATED WEEKLY magazine STATED this on its COVER and now ILLUSTRATED WEEKLY is FINISHED and ⁦@SrBachchan⁩ is SOARING.”


Having made a name for himself as the ‘Angry Young Man’ during the 1970s with films like Sholay, Deewar, Zanjeer, and Amar Akbar Anthony among many other films. He couldn’t find success in the Hindi entertainment industry in the 80s and the 90s. However, he made a powerful comeback in the 2000s when he started hosting the quiz-based reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati and starred in YRF’s film Mohabbatein.

On the other hand, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in multi-starrer Kalki 2898 AD. He essayed the role of Ashwatthama in the sci-fi actioner mythology-based film. He will be next seen in Section 84 and the official remake of the hit Hollywood movie The Intern.
