Nawazuddin Siddiqui: A Journey From Sarfarosh To Badlapur

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has always the been dark horse of Bollywood

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, born in a small town of Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh, graduated from National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi in 1996.The Gangs of Wasseypur actor came to Mumbai in 2004 to make it big as an actor. Thus began his long struggle.

1. Nawaz's stint as a watchman:
In Mumbai, to make ends meet, Nawazuddin started working as a watchman. Nawaz had shared a small incident from his earlier days during 9XMs Bakwaas Show shoot. He said that when he used to work as a watchman, Bakwass Bandh Kar was his only source of entertainment.

2. 139 seconds Bollywood debut in Sarfarosh:
Nawaz made his Bollywood debut in 1999 in Sarfarosh with Aamir Khan. His role was no longer than 139 seconds but he still had caught the eye.



3. Nawaz in Munnabhai MBBS:
Even after that the dark period was not over for Nawaz. He kept auditioning and finally bagged a small role in Munnabhai MBBS. He got to share screen space with Sunil and Sanjay Dutt. 



4. Nawaz in Black Friday:
Nawaz then made an appearance in Anurag Kashyaps Black Friday in 2004. That's where Anurag might have seen his potential and decided to work with him in the future. 



5. Meet Patna Ke Presley in Dev D:
He also appeared as Patna Ke Presley in the famous song - Emotional Atyachar in Anurag Kashyaps Dev D in 2009.



6. Spectacular performance in New York:
A small role was more than enough to create a lasting impression in peoples mind. Nawazs rendition of life in detention was enough to give you goosebumps.



7. Nawaz's KAHAANI had now started:
For the first time in his career Nawaz was seen playing a pivotal role. In Sujoy Ghoshs  mystery thriller Kahaani, he essayed the role of Khan an Intelligence Bureau official. Nawaz had thanked Sujoy for this film, not because he was overwhelmed by the character but because in for the first time in his life he was wearing a Blazer.



8. Faizal Khan of Gangs of Wasseypur:
For the first time in his career Nawaz did a full-fledged role in Anurag Kashyaps Gangs Of Wasseypur. Nawaz received a lot of appreciation for his portrayal of Faizal. Nawaz had become the peoples actor.



9. And then the journey KICKed off:
After delivering amazing performances in movies like Paan Singh Tomar, Talaash, Miss Lovely, The Lunchbox, Kick and Badlapur the versatile is finally getting his due. Nawaz is currently working on some big projects like Bajrangi Bhaijaan with Salman Khan and Raees with Shah Rukh Khan.
