New York is buzzing with B-Townies but there are a few who will not be a part of IIFA 2017 this year. Even though they are nominated in different categories, but we still won’t see them
The likes of Shahid Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and many more have reached New York to attend IIFA 2017. But there are a few who will be missing from the event, which will be held at the iconic MetLife Stadium, New York, on July 14-15. The 18th edition of IIFA Awards will witness powerhouse performances by Bollywood stars.
Here are those 10 celebs who are giving this mega affair a miss:
Shah Rukh Khan Will Not Attend IIFA 2017
King Khan is busy with the promotions of his upcoming flick Jab Harry Met Sejal currently. Also a few days back, his elder son Aryan Khan broke his nose while playing football due to which he needs to undergo a surgery. Doting dad SRK will travel abroad for it to be by his son’s side. Hence, he will not be present at the event.
Just a day back, Ms. Chopra was busy shooting for her Hollywood films but a few hours back she took to her Instagram to post a picture captioning it as, “Summer sun calling #mumbaibound #mumbaimerijaan ❤️🎉🥂💋🙌🏼 #birthdaytime #familynfriends”, which means she will be missing from the green carpet of IIFA 2017. And, looks like might end up celebrating her birthday (18th July) in India.
Ranbir Kapoor Is Busy With Sanjay Dutt Biopic and will Give IIFA 2017 A Miss
While Ranbir is busy promoting Jagga Jasoos extensively which will hit theatres tomorrow, he will then be heading to New York to shoot the next schedule of Sanjay Dutt’s biopic. Rajkumar Hirani will shoot for the portion of Sanjay Dutt’s stay in the rehabilitation centre, where he was struggling with his stark drug addiction. Ranbir Kapoor, is also one of the nominees in the Best Actor category for the Indian Film Academy (IIFA) 2017 for his 2016 blockbuster Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Akshay has boycotted award shows as well. Also, IIFA hasn’t included Akshay’s films in award nominations.
Lastly, there are high chances that Bollywood's 'IT' couple- Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are skipping the event as well, unless the duo decides to land end moment at the venue. They are currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati in Mumbai.
