Diwali 2018: Songs Which Are A Must On Your Playlist, Man!
Well it’s that time of the year again when you dress up, light beautiful diyas, burn some crackers, spread some joy and attend Diwali parties. Now, we all know that there can’t be a celebration without Bollywood music. While Diwali songs used to be quite a common thing in films in the last century, tracks having flavour this festival have been reduced to a bare minimum in the new millennium. But still, there are a few and far between songs which are always there to pump up your mood.

So without further ado, let's go down the memory lane and give you a list of 5 songs that will set you in the mood for the Festival of Lights. Put them on your playlist and yes, we bet you will love them. Gaana Bajaana is always welcome isn't it? Who doesn't like it? Music is life! Koi shaque? Are you ready with your playlist? These songs must find a place in that, rightaway!

Pairon Mein Bandhan Hai (Mohabbatein, 2000)

This song is not only set against the backdrop of Diwali, but also comes at a very crucial stage in the film. The six lead actors of the film- Uday Chopra, Shamita Shetty, Jugal Hansraj, Kim Sharma, Jimmy Sheirgill and Preeti Jhangiani- who are petrified of acknowledging their love for each other in front of Amitabh Bachchan (the unforgettable strict Principal), finally do so. Don’t miss King Khan playing the dhol towards the end of the number.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham, 2001)

The movie’s title track reminds us of Shah Rukh Khan coming back home, much like Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya. An emotional track that sets the mood of the festival. Also, there is a message which says that a mother always knows what her kids are up to, even if they haven't informed her.

Aayi Hai Diwali (Amdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya, 2001)

This dance number is specifically for couples. Though little slow on the beats, it definitely sets a playful mood for couples to groove on. To add to it, you have Govinda's quirky moves toward the end, which are simply unmissable.

Happy Diwali (Home Delivery, 2005)

For those who don't remember this song from the Vivek Oberoi-Boman Irani film, you must have surely heard it in some or the other Diwali meme. It's quite popular in that section of social media- but yeah again whenever people hear this, they wonder which movie it is from. Well, now you know!  And, please tie a knot! This song is full of joy and positivity. It shows a group of children,  jumping and singing with gay abandon. Apt for the Happy festival. And listen, you shouldn't forget its identity anymore.

Shehar Ki Pariyon Ke Peeche (Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, 1992)

The song is all about desi costumes, crackers and shows Aamir Khan’s brother in the film, Mamik Singh confessing his feelings to his childhood crush. The film starred Aamir Khan, Ayesha Jhulka, Mamik Singh, Deepak Tijori and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in the lead roles, and this song came at an interesting point in the story line.
