Disasters Of 2018: Thugs Of Hindostan, Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Fanney Khan
2018 has been a year of experiments for Bollywood. Some experiments like Raazi and Andhadhun worked and some like Fanney Khan and TOH failed miserably at the box-office. And of course, there were many other flops like every year. For now, let's take you to 7 worst Bollywood box-office failures of the year 2018.

Aiyaary (February):
Aiyaary

This Neeraj Pandey directorial starring Siddharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpai in pivotal roles was a patriotic drama which had all the ingredients of a success--- but unfortunately it wasn't cooked well. The movie which was made with a budget of 60 Crore not only received bad reviews from the critics but also tanked at the box office with a lifetime business of just 18 Crore.

Bhavesh Joshi (June):

This Harshvardhan Kapoor flick garnered not even Rs 1.5 crore at the turnstile. The budget that it was made at was 25 crore. The rest, as they say, is history.

Fanney Khan (August):

The makers had high hopes with the comeback of Aishwarya Rai Bachhan and also with the unconventional pairing of young Rajkumar Rao and her--- but in spite of good performances the film couldn't win audiences' hearts. Raj, Ash and Anil tried to save the sinking ship, but yet it couldn't get the moviegoers to the theatres and ended up earning a lifetime business of only 9 Crore.

Manmarziyaan (September):
Manmarziyaan

The climax scene of this Manmarziyaan was applauded by many, but the film couldn't last long at the box-office. This Anurag Kashyap directorial starring Tapsee Pannu, Vickey Kaushal and Abhishek Bachhan got mixed reviews by the critics--- but failed to set the cash registers ringing. It ended with a lifetime business of only 26 crore, which was definitely far lesser than expectations and scale both.

Batti Gul Meter Chalu (September):
Batti Gul Meter Chalu

The subject was interesting but the treatment was not at all up to the mark and this Shree Narayan Singh directorial starring Shahid Kapoor and Shradha Kapoor couldn't win the janta's hearts. A forced love triangle and dragged courtroom scenes left it with a low collection at the box-office.

Namaste England (October):
Namaste England

It was Vipul Shah’s comeback and he had a big responsibility of driving this franchise in the forward direction. But Namaste England starring Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra, which was said to be the sequel of 2007 classic Namaste London crashed pathetically at the box-office. An ultra weak script and average performances led the film to a disastrous lifetime earning of barely 8 crore.

Thugs Of Hindostan (November):

Undoubtedly, it was one of the biggest flops of 2018. TOH not only disappointed the audiences but actually frustrated them. It also made  the mega star Aamir Khan apologise to the world for giving such high  hopes to public. This Vijay Krishna Acharya directorial starring Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh is now searching for some redemption in China. Sad but true.
