Aamir, Bipasha, Shahid congratulate Sakshi Malik on her Olympic win
It is a big day today for India. In a thrilling wrestling match, Sakshi Malik made the nation proud by bagging a medal at the Rio Olympics 2016. This is India’s first medal at Olympics 2016. With this win, Sakshi has become the first Indian woman to bag a medal in the wrestling category. B-Town started pouring in congratulatory messages wishing Sakshi for her feat.

With this win, Sakshi has become the first Indian woman to bag a medal in the wrestling category. The 23-year-old from Rohtak clinched the bronze in the 58kg category defeating Aisuluu Tynybekova of Kyrgyzstan in the play-off bout.
Sakshi became the fourth woman athlete from India to win an Olympic medal. Earlier weightlifter Karnam Malleshwari (2000, Sydney), boxer MC Mary Kom (2012, London) and shuttler Saina Nehwal (2012, London) got India medals at the Olympics.
B-Town stars didn’t waste a moment before congratulating Sakshi for her feat. Some even compared her to the character Aarfa (played by Anushka Sharma) in the recent release, Sultan. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo actress Swara Bhaskar had an important point to make with Sakshi’s win. Swara wrote, “Apt that on #rakshabandhan #SakshiMalik shows the country that if we support our girl child and give them a chance, they will win the world!”
Aamir Khan tweeted, “Congratulations Sakshi Malik! 1st Indian female wrestler to win an Olympic medal. Well done. You have done India proud!”
