Vidya Balan Is ‘WANTED’! Kahaani 2 Teaser Creates Curiosity

Good news for those who love suspense thrillers from the Sujoy Ghosh’s kitty!

Vidya Balan is back with another scintillating performance in Kahaani 2.

The makers released a teaser which shows a news reader making a ‘Wanted’ announcement for Durga Rani Singh, played by Vidya Balan.

The versatile actress yet again goes de-glam in this one. Kahaani 2 will be directed by Sujoy Ghosh.

In its prequel-Kahaani, Vidya played a pregnant woman who was out on a search for her missing husband. The film which was also directed by Sujoy Ghosh received lot of accolades from the mass and the critics. It registered good numbers at the BO.

In Kahaani 2, Vidya is playing a 36 year old ‘wanted’ fugitive, Durga Rani Singh.

A sequel to the 2012 film Kahaani, the film also features Arjun Rampal in lead role. The film was shot between March 2016 and May 2016. It is scheduled to release on December 2, 2016.

Coming to her other projects, Vidya Balan has commenced doing her homework to master the mannerism of Indian-English writer Kamala Surayya. Vidya is playing the revolutionary poetess in a bilingual biopic, to be directed by national award-winning Malayalam director Kamal.

The Malayalam-English movie will also feature South-Indian actor Prithviraj, who has worked opposite Rani Mukerji in 2012-flick, Aiyyaa.

Surayya, who wrote in English as Kamala Das, had changed her name to Kamala Surayya after embracing Islam a few years before her death in 2009. Her work was considered bold and unconventional as it questioned the hypocrisies of the society.

The most sensational, and arguably widely read of all of them, is her memoirs Ente Katha (My story), which was initially propagated as her real-life story, but she herself clarified later that it was just an “imaginary work.”

Her other major works are Childhood Memoirs, Summer in Calcutta, Alphabet of Lust, Descendants and collected poems.
