Daddy Trailer Out: Arjun Rampal Rocks The Gangster Look In Arun Gawli Biopic
After making the audiences wait for over 7 months after the teaser launch, the makers of Daddy have finally released the trailer of the film. Arjun Rampal once again bears a striking resemblance to gangster-turned politician Arun Gawli
Arjun Rampal once again steps into the limelight with his much-hyped project Daddy, the biopic of Mumbai gangster-turned – politician Arun Gawli. The makers have released the trailer. Check it out:
Arjun very convincingly steps into the character of Arun Gawli with long tresses, a beard and an intense look. One can easily make out from the trailer that Arjun’s character is going to be gritty, gruesome and full of dark undertones. The film is narrated in the span of four decades and in multiple perspectives.
Apart from Arjun, the film also features Aishwarya Rajesh, who is making her debut in B-Town with this film. Daddy, a political crime drama is co-written and directed by Ashim Ahluwalia. The makers describe the movie as: "The story is about Gawli, a man who scripted his own destiny, eventually going on to become one of India's most feared mobsters. Now, he remains an enigmatic figure; at once a volatile, power-hungry gangster for some and the venerated Daddy or a modern day Robin Hood for the working-class neighbourhood he belongs to." Daddy follows Gawli as he attempts to enter politics and is pitted against a resentful, frustrated cop with a secret history with the mob.
Arjun Rampal In A Still From Daddy
For those who’ve come in late, the biopic has been in the making for a really long time. This is Arjun’s second production venture after I See You (2006). There were a lot of financial issues with the film.
The first teaser of the movie was released last December, and there was no news of the film since then.
If you look closely at the ending credits, the teaser credits Rutvij Patel as the co-producer along with Arjun. However, the trailer, which has come out now, just credits Arjun as the sole producer. Definitely there was some trouble behind the closed doors between the two producers, which led to Arjun coming up with the film all alone.

Anyways, all’s well that ends well. Daddy is set to hit theatres on July 21, but will face stiff opposition at the box-office from films like Munna Michael and Lipstick Under My Burkha. The stage is set for a big fight.
