Thugs Of Hindostan Box-Office Collection, Day 3: The Cookie Is Indeed Crumbling
YRF's Thugs Of Hindostan may have broken records on its first day collections, but the footfalls for the film are dipping by the day. Here's the Day 3 collection at the box-office
Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh starrer, Thugs Of Hindostan witnessed a record-breaking opening on Day 1. The film crossed the Rs 50 Cr mark in just 1 day and earned Rs 52.25 Cr. However, leave aside sustain a decent score, it has dipped miserably.
Day 2 witnessed a massive drop of about 45% in the collections, and now on the third day, the collections have dipped further. As per reports on Box-Office India, the film has collected only Rs 22.75 Cr on Saturday, which is much lesser than half of it's first day collection. The total collections of the film now stand at Rs 100.75 Cr.
The reviews of the film haven't been great and the negative word-of-mouth on social media has also hit the film hard. The film has not been liked in majority numbers. The problem is that after having such a massive opening on Day 1, the film's collections should have gone higher over the extended long weekend, but it went just contrary to what Team TOH expected.
SpotboyE.com rated Thugs Of Hindostan 2.5 stars, emphasising that its director Vijay Krishna Acharya had failed to roll out an interesting film. It's just a grand spectacle, said SpotboyE.com Editor Vickey Lalwani.
The film's collections over the extended long weekend were predicted by trade pundits to be around 180-200 Cr. Seeing the constant dip in the footfalls, that number now seems far-fetched. With the holiday period drawing to a close, you can now definitely say that TOH has been a misfired arrow.
