Jawaani Jaaneman Day 3 Box-Office Collections: Saif Ali Khan Starrer Fails To Beat Deepika's Chhapaak
Last Friday we had Saif Ali Khan, Alaya F and Tabu starrer Jawaani Jaaneman making it to the theatres and despite good reviews, it failed to mint well at the box-office. It managed to do average business by the end of the first weekend. The numbers are even lesser than Deepika Padukone's Chhapaak that released a few weeks ago
Saif Ali Khan's film with Ajay Devgn, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, did amazingly well at the box-office, however, the Nawab could not continue with the trend with his latest release Jawaani Jaaneman. The film that marks the debut of Pooja Bedi's daughter Alaya F and also stars Tabu did average business at the box-office. It started on a slow note on day one, but over the weekend it picked up. Good reviews and positive word-of-mouth helped the film to see a jump, but not good enough to term it as a hit.
As per reports, the total collection of Jawaani Jaaneman stands at Rs 12.83 crore by the end of the first three days. On Saturday and Sunday, the film managed to see an upward trend as footfalls increased in multiplexes. Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#JawaaniJaaneman puts up a decent total [opening weekend]. Trends well on Day 2 and 3. Multiplexes [urban centres] driving its biz... Mass circuits ordinary/weak. Day 4 [Mon] biz will be decider... Fri 3.24 cr, Sat 4.55 cr, Sun 5.04 cr. Total: ₹ 12.83 cr. #India biz." However, the numbers are still lower than Deepika Padukone's Chhapaak that had released with Tanhaji. Deepika's film by the end of the first weekend had collected approximately Rs 18 crore. This, despite competition from a big-budget period-drama like Tanhaji that had Saif Ali Khan in a negative role.

Well, now it remains to be seen how well Jawaani Jaaneman does on the first Monday. It's a litmus test for the film. The film has received good reviews from all corners with Saif Ali Khan's Casanova character being loved by all. Critics also praised Alaya F for her debut.
