First Day Box-Office Collection: Saif Ali Khan’s Chef Gets A SHOCKINGLY Low Start Of Rs 1.05 Cr
Bad news for Saif Ali Khan as his film Chef has opened to the box-office with an extremely low figure. The film, which a Hollywood remake, managed to collect a mere sum of Rs 1.05 cr on Day 1...
In a recent interview to a leading daily, Saif Ali Khan
had clearly hinted that he desperately wants Chef to be a hit as his
stardom is getting affected with continuous failures at the box-office.
The film released yesterday and unfortunately, the
opening collection of Chef has no good news for Nawab Pataudi. It has managed
to collect a shockingly low amount of Rs 1.05 crore at the ticket windows.
Popular Trade Analyst, Taran Adarsh tweeted the
box-office figures. “#Chef has a shockingly low start... Fri ₹ 1.05 cr.
India biz... Need to witness massive growth on Sat and Sun to
sustain.”

Talking about critic reviews, well, that’s not very
positive either. Author and SpotboyE film critic, Khalid Mohamed, applauded
Saif’s attempt but gave only 2.5 stars to the film. He wrote, “Saif Ali
Khan is efficient enough in this weakly scripted buffet of a movie.
Chef is directed glossily enough by Raja Krishna Menon. Scripted by him
with a couple of writers, the outcome’s quite a bland, at times
excessively sugary broth. See Chef, only if you’re assailed by severe hunger
pangs.”
Chef is an official Hollywood remake of Jon Favreau’s
2014 American drama, titled the same. Although the Hollywood film is quite a
rage still, unfortunately Saif’s version is finding it hard to pick-up at the
box-office. It definitely needs a good push through the weekend to sustain and
let’s hope the film gets that.
