First Day Box-Office Collection: Akshay Kumar-Bhumi Pednekar's Toilet-Ek Prem Katha Marks A Good Opening Of Rs 13.10 Crore

Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Toilet-Ek Prem Katha is off to a flying start. From the very first day of the announcement of the film, the makers started drilling a very important message into the minds of audiences. All that hard work by the whole team has finally paid off, and the film has managed to collect Rs. 13.10 crore on the first day itself.

Trade expert Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the news a while ago.

Taran's tweet read, "#ToiletEkPremKatha Fri ₹ 13.10 cr. India biz... Sat and Sun look better... Biz to get big boost on Tue [Independence Day]... #TEPK (sic)."

Well, with a fairly good opening, looks like Akshay Kumar’s film is in for a good business.

Also it being a long weekend (Monday-Janmashthami & Tuesday-Independence Day), the collections should increase. Taran went on to also say, "#ToiletEkPremKatha picked up rapidly post noon onwards... Mass circuits have performed the best... Plexes decent/good... #TEPK (sic)."


Talking about the important message the film delivers, just this morning Hollywood star Salma Hayek tweeted to Akshay Kumar all her well wishes for the film. She said, "Good luck to @akshaykumar on @ToiletTheFilm out today! End #OpenDefecation now! No woman should fear going to the toilet! #ToiletEkPremKatha (sic)."

Akshay was also prompt in replying back to her and thanking her for helping in spreading the cause. Akshay said, "Thank you for your wishes for our small effort towards #GoingODF : #ToiletEkPremKatha  (sic)."


With a positive word-of-mouth going around for Toilet-Ek Prem Katha, a good weekend is predicted.
