Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, Box-Office, Day 1: This Sonam-Anil-Rajkummar-Juhi Starrer Has A Slow Start
Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga has begun on a low note. The numbers could’ve been better, but let’s not lose hope as yet.
Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga released yesterday and the movie which boasts of an ensemble cast comprising of Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Juhi Chawla delves into a sensitive issue with extreme grace. But, did it manage to make the cut on the first day at the box office? Let’s find out.
So, the numbers haven’t been too pleasant as the movie has done a business of Rs 3.3 crore. The number isn’t great enough to begin with, but as they say, never lose hope, so let’s decide the fate of this film once the weekend business comes in. If the movie had any sort of competition from another biggie, then we could still fathom the fact that the business is bound to be affected.

But, even that not being the case here, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga really needs to push itself a bit harder to rake in decent numbers. The reviews have been favourable and decent. SpotboyE Editor Vickey Lalwani rated the movie 3.5 stars and you have to read his words of appraise, “Don't you dare term same-sex preference as disease! Why mock at lesbianism bro if you are straight and hate homosexuality? All this and more with so much dignity; Vidhu Vinod Chopra's sister Shelly Chopra Dhar drives home a very delicate subject, simply and effectively. Of course, it was crystal clear from the trailers what's Sonam's big secret in this Vidhu Vinod Chopra's flick Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga--- but what remained to be seen was if Shelly has handled this sensitive subject sensitively.”
