Why Was Shraddha Kapoor Spending Sleepless Nights Before Stree’s Release?
More often than not, stars are nervous and excited before their films hit theatres. However, Shraddha Kapoor found it hard to sleep. Why is that? SpotboyE.com tells you
Shraddha Kapoor is on cloud nine. Reason? The actress celebrated the success of Stree last night along with the film’s cast and crew. The horror comedy has entered the Rs 100 crore club and the actress is overwhelmed with the response the project continues to get.
However, Shraddha was spending sleepless nights before Stree hit theatres. In an exclusive interview with SpotboyE.com, the actress said, “Yes, I was very nervous. You know how unpredictable Hindi cinema is. Kuch pata nahin chalta kya chalega kya nahin.”
Shraddha Kapoor in Stree
This ‘anxiety’ stemmed from the spate of flops that Shraddha had had before Stree hit theatres. Haseena Parkar, which released in September last year, was an autobiographical film on gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s sister, Haseena. It chronicled the latter’s life as she becomes the ‘Queen Of Mumbai’.
In May, Mohit Suri’s directorial Half Girlfriend starring Shraddha and Arjun Kapoor released. There was immense hype surrounding the project since it was based on Chetan Bhagat’s eponymous book. However, it failed to live up to expectations.
Months before, Ok Jaanu which starred Aditya Roy Kapur opposite the actress made way to the theatres. The youthful film was a remake of Mani Ratnam's Tamil film O Kadhal Kanmani starring Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon. This one too failed to resonate with the audiences. Rock On 2 featuring Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli and Prachi Desai experienced a similar fate at the box-office.
Stree has become Shraddha Kapoor’s third film to enter the Rs 100 crore club. Her films ABCD 2 and Ek Villain have earlier crossed the mark. Congratulations, Shraddha!
