Soni Razdan: Why Is Alia Not Brutally Frank? Why Has Mahesh Bhatt Mellowed Down? What Does She Feel About Alia-Ranbir Love Story?

It was a warm afternoon that I caught up with Soni Razdan at Social in Cinepolis (Andheri). Grace personified like always, she settled down for a chat on No Fathers In Kashmir. There were no rules laid, unlike many others in Bollywood, you won't ask me this and you won't ask me that. The topic veered towards Alia Bhatt. Naturally.

Mommy Soni was happy to discuss her. First things first. We spoke about Alia's success. And then, we veered towards the fact that Bhatt saab has mellowed down. Gone are the days when he opined on almost everything, it was such a pleasure to talk to him and learn from a man who was never ignorant and in fact knew about everything under the sun. And why is Alia not as bold as Mahesh Bhatt of yesteryears?



The topic then shifted to Alia's love story with Ranbir. The Raazi (which I saw SIX times in a theatre) star had confessed her love for Ranbir on the Filmfare Wards 2019 stage. What did Soni have to say about that? Had she seen the video? And of course, we spoke a lot about No Fathers In Kashmir. This film is very close to Soni's heart as she is half-Kashmiri. "It's a very sensitive and nice film. I immediately told Ashvini Kumar (director) that I am doing the film, once I had heard the script," she added.
