Lata Mangeshkar's Doctor, Pratit Samdani: She Was Brought In A Terrible Condition- But Gone Home Cheerful, Eating Food On Her Own, Without Oxygenation- EXCLUSIVE
Lata Mangeshkar's doctor, Pratit Samdani in a FULL-LENGTH INTERVIEW on the Nightingale's recovery
The entire world is grateful to you for all that you've done to send Lata Di home...
I am extremely delighted.
Doctor, can you tell us from the time she was admitted?
Lata Di was admitted (in Breach Candy Hospital) with a bad infection and heart problem. We had put her on a ventilator. It was gradual, but we managed to help her out.
She has gone home cheerful, she's eating food on her own and she's now without oxygenation.
Has the heart problem been resolved?
It's stable now.
Precautions to be taken by her?
We have explained her about her lifestyle changes and the diet she has to adhere to, which I am sure she will.
Lifestyle changes which cause no stress on the heart?
Yes.
Doctor, how did she go home? I mean, the journey back from the hospital...
I myself dropped her home. Two members from my team had accompanied me. She has settled at her residence, well.
When was she out from the ICU?
About 10-12 days ago.
Sorry to take you back again, doctor. But can you elaborate a little more on her condition when she was wheeled in?
She was in a terrible condition. Difficult for me to commit that she would make it. The last 28 days have been really stressful, but I am privileged that my team and I have treated her. She is such an icon.
Were you clear with the family members from Day 1 about her delicate condition then?
Yes, we kept them explaining on day-to-day basis- changes, outcome and prognosis.
The prayers of the entire nation, in fact the entire world, have worked as much as our hard work.
