Hello! This Is Priyanka Chopra Speaking From Montreal
Here's the latest update from the world of Bollywood. We bet you wouldn't want to miss this. Read on for details... The Don actress is a super confident gal. Koi shaque?
Quantico is about to premiere on television. And with it, Priyanka Chopra makes her big debut on American prime time. The actress is currently holed up in Montreal. The time is right to talk to PeeCee. Excerpts from the conversation:
Did you feel apprehensive signing Quantico? You knew you will have to sacrifice a few films as the shoots are going to be long...
Absolutely not. I am still doing the films I want to. I have been able to have a schedule that allows me to have the best of both worlds.
How has the experience been?
Quantico has been a very interesting experience. There are so many different things that I'm learning everyday. It's like going on an adventure every time because I never know what to expect with my character or even with the script. I'm enjoying every minute of it. Besides, I'm fortunate enough to be close to all my co-stars and we all get along so well. There's a lot of bromance and womance on the show.
How is a day in Montreal like?
It varies from day to day but it's usually very hectic; we shoot close to 16 hours almost every day. So, it doesn't leave me with time to do anything else.
Do people recognise you on the streets of Montreal and mob you?
I don't really have the time to walk about the city. But whenever I have, people out here have been very hospitable. Montreal is such a fun, warm city.
Have you taken your designer, makeup guy from Mumbai or...?
My entire glam squad has been handpicked from the US in keeping with the requirements of the show.
How did you prep up for Quantico?
Both at physical and emotional level, I think shooting for Mary Kom and Jai Gangaajal helped me set the base. The rest really fell into place when I started discussing the scripts and scenes with my co-stars, writers, producer and director.
Where do you plan to watch the first episode?
I'm going to be in Los Angeles for some promotions, when the first episode premieres.
What's the difference between shooting in Bollywood and an international set-up like Quantico?
The main difference for me is the format. Unlike in a film, we are shooting multiple episodes. It's like filling another creative canvas.
Have your friends and colleagues from Bollywood congratulated you on Quantico?
My friends and colleagues in the industry have been very kind. A lot of them have reached out with many compliments and just an overall show of support that is so amazing. I feel blessed.
When will you shift to your new house in Juhu Scheme?
I do have a new house but while it's all ready and waiting for me, I've been away and hence haven't had a chance to move in. I plan to shift when I am back.
