Harleen Sethi On Vicky Kaushal’s Love For Her, “We Are Trying To Know Each Other. It’s A Good Space”
Harleen Sethi is making headlines, for personal and professional reasons. On the work front, her upcoming web series Broken But Beautiful opposite Vikrant Massey is being talked about. At the same time, Raazi actor Vicky Kaushal’s confession on Neha Dhupia’s show #NoFilterNeha is another reason that’s grabbing equal attention. This afternoon, we spoke to the lady and couldn’t wait to see her reaction on Vicky’s recent romantic confession. Read on to know what she has to say and also know her views on love and breakups.

Vicky Kaushal has confessed his love for you on #NoFilterNeha; what do you have to say?
For me, Vicky is a friend. I share a good comfort level with him. We are from the same friend’s circle because of which we often meet. It’s a good space.

Are you guys in a relationship? Can you let the cat out of the bag?
(Laughs) I just want to say that we share a very good comfort level. And we are getting to know each other. Par usse aage kuch nahi bolna chahungi main.

Speaking of your upcoming web show Broken But Beautiful, how different is Harleen from her character Sameera in real life?

Sameera is totally different from Harleen, I would say. Sameera is someone who is stuck in time and doesn’t want to move on. She likes to victimize herself. For her, sad is the new normal. And Harleen is very different, like she will be ‘Oh okay, you don’t want to be with me, go to hell’ (laughs). Not completely opposite to the character but little more practical I would say.

How would you deal with a heartbreak?
See jab bhi kisi ka heartbreak hota hai uss time pe lagta hai duniya khatam hogayi hai. And I think it’s a similar case with all of us. When a person with whom you have seen dream together leaves, you definitely feel ‘chhan se jo toote koi sapna, jagg soona soona laage.’ But it depends on how you choose to move on. And Harleen has become samajhdaar with time, so will deal with it in a better way.

You have done ad films before and now you are acting in a web series. What’s more difficult?
In modelling world too, I have done more acting-based projects like ad films. I like doing ads because in 30 seconds you have to sell a product; which is quite a task. But it’s far easier than acting. I have done nearly 60-70 commercials. Acting is way. Like if you are doing a show or a film, you have to be in your character for the amount of time you are shooting. Acting is more about reacting to your co-actor. It’s also about your chemistry and how true you are in the moment. And for me, it has turned out to be quite a challenging journey.

What was your reaction when this offer came your way?
I auditioned like everybody else did. I did one round of audition and then I was called for another round with Vikrant Massey just to see how well we are playing off with each other (chemistry). Because this show is all about how you play with each other’s energies, act and co-act. Also, how do I look with him. For a couple of days, I didn’t hear from them and was very nervous to know ki kya ho raha hai? kya ho raha hai? But, they finally called me and said ‘Aap Sameera ho’. And let me tell you, I was the last person to get locked.

Any of your own breakup stories that you would like to share with us?
I have actually gone through many breakups. Kitne bataun?

Tell us about your first ever breakup then?
Oh, if you ask me about that, then Harleen was like this Sameera and this show is very relatable to me. Jo Sameera ne feel kiya hai vo Harleen ne bhi feel kiya hai at one point. I also got stuck in time where I didn’t want to move on. Hoping that he would come back and going back and forth. But eventually, it didn’t work out. And I was very young at that time; was in my second year of degree-college when this breakup happened and consequently my third year became very difficult for me. But I tried my best to distract myself and focus on studies. Thankfully, I topped so socha chalo kuch to achcha nikla.

Do you believe in giving a second chance?
It depends on kis wajah se break up hua hai. I personally believe that relationships can only work if two people are putting in equal efforts to be with each other. And, if the concerned person has moved on and doesn’t want to come to you, then you should not force him/her. But, if a person is actually sorry for the mistake and making an effort to be with you then, second chance toh banta hai.

Any tips you would want to give to those who are stuck in their breakup phase?
First of all, love yourself. Agar aap apne aap ko pyaar nahi karte toh aapko koi pyaar nahi kar sakta. Spirituality and meditation along with having faith in the good is must. It helps you a lot. As it tells you that you are complete as a person, you don’t need a person to complete you. Ham bahut baar sochte hain do dil juddkar ek ho jaate hain aisa kuch nahi hota. You are complete in yourself. And lastly, I would say when you choose to move on, you will experience a better person in yourself. Life is beautiful so live it completely and just don’t get stuck in time. Ye nahi to koi aur sahi aur agar ye bhi nahi mila to aap akele khush reh sakte ho.

How was the experience of shooting with Vikrant?
He is a brilliant actor and it was an amazing experience. There is lots to learn from him.

Are you feeling the jitters for the show’s success?
Very much! There are butterflies in my stomach. At the same time, I am also feeling nervous.
