Ginny Weds Sunny Actress Sanchita Puri: 'Got The Film In Two Days'-EXCLUSIVE
Actress Sanchita Puri whom we have seen in shows like Laal Ishq and Baarish has made her Bollywood debut with the release Ginny Weds Sunny. The film stars Yami Gautam and Vikrant Massey in the lead. The actress is seen playing the character of Yami's friend Prerna and has been receiving appreciation for the character. But do you know how lucky Sanchita turned out to be while signing her first film? Well, the actress revealed it to us in an interview;

You have finally made your Bollywood debut. How does it feel?
It obviously feels great.

How does this film happen to you?
The casting director of this film met me while I was auditioning for one of the web shows. Though I didn't get that part in the series, he liked my audition. Then he called me for this film and in two days I got selected for the role. I met the producer and director. They were really warm and I remember saying welcome on board.

So your casting was done really fast?
Yes, the reason being they had auditioned many girls for this character before. They also auditioned people in Delhi, because half of our film is shot there and Ghaziabad but fortunately I got this opportunity. As when the casting call came to me they were in very much hurry to finalise the girl. So the process became really fast for me.

Who was the first one to know that you have bagged the film?
I am very close to my siblings and my younger brother always stays very excited for me. He has been very supportive to me throughout my journey. I shared all my ups and downs with him in the industry and he has always been a moral support to me. So I called him first and after that of course my parents.

The film has Vikrant Massey and Yami Gautam who also come from a TV background just like you. So did that connect you guys on set?
We used to have long discussions with Vikrant about how TV and Bollywood work differently. He used to talk a lot about acting. While rehearsals also he used to do a lot of improvisation and then at times used to explain what is the difference between this shot and previous shot. He kept guiding me and giving lessons during the shoot. Like how confident you have to be if you want to do something big in this industry. He has come from a background and has had his own struggle. So he knows what all aspiring actors go through.

Was your journey in the industry easy?
My journey in the industry has been really nice. I like my growth where I am today. I am from Kanpur and then coming to Mumbai making a mark in the city was not very easy. There were days when I used to feel demotivated when meeting so many people and looking for work. Simultaneously working on yourself a lot. But with everything you have to keep yourself focused.
