Akshay Kumar Opens Up On His Frustration, Success, Kesari, Karan Johar And More
Superstar Akshay Kumar gets candid with SpotboyE.com about his frustration, success, Kesari , 2.0, Aarav and lots more!
Come Thursday, Kesari starring Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra hits theatres. The movie set on the brave battle of Saragarhi, has been mounted on a humongous scale. We bet Karan Johar (Producer) and Anurag Singh (Director) are extremely excited about it. Ditto for Akhay Kumar, whom we met at Sun-n-Sand (Juhu) for a chat yesterday. Akshay as usual, was on the dot. The conversation was lively and honest.
We began by asking Akshay all about Kesari including whether he had any difficulties in transforming himself into a Sardar, the get-up, voice modulation, body language etc. We point blank asked him if he was consciously doing films like, Airlift, Rustom, Padman, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Gold which had relevant messages for the country. Akshay also went on to single out 2.0 as his most difficult role till date, especially considering the prosthetics that he used for long hours. We then asked him about his entry into webspace with Amazon Prime. And yes, we did get a reply from him on the box-office collection of 2.0- whether he felt it could’ve been little more. WATCH THE VIDEO INTERVIEW BELOW.
During the conversation, Akshay honestly told us that he was quite fed up for nearly 6 to 7 years of his career where he was getting only action-oriented films one after another. Interestingly, Akshay attributes his success in Bollywood to a certain percentage of luck having ridden with him- when we compliment him for his hard work having reaped fruit without having a godfather in the industry, where the existence of favouritism cannot be denied.
