Aashram 3: Bobby Deol On Dharmendra’s Reaction To Him Playing Baba Nirala: ‘He Was Happy One Deol Broke Their Image By Doing Something Different’-EXCLUSIVE
Actor Bobby Deol is now keen to take up challenging and different roles. He told us that he has come to a point in his career where he wants to take up the roles out of his comfort zone and godman Baba Nirala in 'Aashram 3' was one such for him. The Soldier actor experimented by playing a negative role in the Prakash Jha’s show and he received immense love and appreciation. In a recent interview with us, Bobby revealed how his father-veteran actor Dharmendra and brother Sunny Deol reacted to him playing such a ruthless and negative role.

Bobby shared with us, “Honestly, I never told my father and brother that I am doing Aashram because I never really discussed my work with them. Especially, when I was doing Aashram I never told them anything about it. They themselves always wanted to do different characters but their image became so strong that they could not take those sorts of opportunities. But, when I did this show my dad and brother Sunny started getting calls and there were so happy that one of them has been able to do something different and have broken their positive image.” ALSO READ: Aashram 3: Bobby Deol On Doing HOT, Intimate Scenes With Esha Gupta: 'I Was Very Nervous, It Was My First Time To Do Something Like This’-EXCLUSIVE

He added, “My dad was really happy. I remember once many years back my dad did a negative role and my grandmother went to preview that show and she left it halfway, she came home and told my father she was very upset that he played such a character. But now, the industry has changed, it has become more professional. Now, it’s all about actors playing different characters.”

On a related note, ‘Aashram 3’, directed by Prakash Jha, revolves around the megalomaniac baba (Bobby) who believes to be above all and thinks he’s God. His ‘badnaam’ Aashram exploits women, indulges in the drug trade, and controls the politics of the town. The third season was premiered on June 3 on MX Player.
