World Earth Day 2020: Paoli Dam Urges Fans To Avoid Plastic Usage And Preserve Water
April 22 marks the World Earth Day and it is celebrated across the globe. But this year the celebration is different because of the sudden outbreak of coronavirus. People are celebrating the day through digital means and sharing the pictures on the social handle. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wished the nation and thanked earth mother for the care and compassion.

Tollywood actress Paoli Dam penned down a long post on her social handle and urged fans to avoid usage of plastic. “The earth is all we have in common.” This lockdown, if anything, has helped us all witness the magic of nature that was missing for so many years because of us. We have all woken up to clearer skies, chirping of birds, fresher air and a cleaner environment. Truly, it feels like the earth is healing while we stay home,” she wrote.

The actress even suggested ways also. She writes, “Here are three practices you can adopt during this lockdown for a more earth friendly lifestyle:

1. It is very important that we wash our hands often. As per experts, we need to rub our hands with soap for 20 seconds. Make sure, you DO NOT keep the tap running for those 20 seconds. PRESERVE WATER.

2. When you go out to buy your essentials, CARRY A BAG from home. You won’t need to ask for plastic bags if you have a bag already. SAY NO TO PLASTIC.

3. Single use plastic such as straws, forks and spoons, glasses etc. choke the earth. If you order for food from outside, make sure you tell the delivery executive to not bring you plastic cutlery and straws.

Celebrate a Happy Earth Day!
