Bengali actress Swastika Mukherjee criticized Kangana Ranaut for showing disrespect towards women and tweeted, “This is wrong in so many ways. MOTHERS of rapists are to be blamed for the rapes their sons commit ? You have the power of voicing your opinion #KangnaRanaut and this is how you do it? Misogyny is written all over it & so much disrespect for women.”

The row started after senior lawyer Indira Jaising said that Nirbhaya mother should forgive rapists. This comment of her did not well with many and she was trolled badly. Nirbhaya (a name given by nation) was brutally gang-raped in a moving bus in Delhi in 2012. There was a delay in the verdict which also drew flak on the social media.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Swastika Mukherjee will be next seen in director Arjunn Dutta’s next film ‘Guldasta’. The film will see two actresses Arpita Chatterjee, Swastika Mukherjee sharing screen together for the first time. The film is a women-centric film which will feature three female characters in the central role.
