Gulabo Sitabo: Shiboprasad Mukherjee Hails Shoojit Sircar Decision, Says ‘This Will Help Industry Stay Afloat’

The Coronavirus outbreak has badly affected the entertainment industry. There are many films which were supposed to release in the month of April and May but now it has been postponed for unknown time. And now Shoojit Sircar is all set to release his film ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ on digital platform. His decision has left the entertainment industry divided.
Supporting Sircar’s decision, Shiboprasad Mukherjee said that this may not help much in terms of money but at least they can pay the technicians, artistes. Daily wagers of entertainment industry are badly affected and to support them a short film was also released.
Talking to The Times of India, he further said, “If directors and producers are able to stay afloat, they will help the industry and make more films for the audiences. It is hard time and everyone is struggling in this time.”
Speculations are going around that many films will now be released digitally owing to the current situation. Though the government has allowed post-production work. But the shootings are completely stopped.

Shibprasad Mukhopadhyay and Nandita Roy will soon be starting their long-awaited next directorial titled ‘Belashuru’. The director duo had even shared the first look poster of the film on social media and the first glance of it will make you remember of ‘Bela Seshe’.
