Actor Parambrata Chatterjee Speaks On Equal Screening Time For Regional Cinema
Parambrata Chatterjee’s latest release ‘Sagardwipey Jawker Dhan’ is performing doing well at the box office. Koel Mallick and Gaurav Chakrabarty are also in the lead role in the film
Bollywood vs regional cinema is always topic of long and heated discussion and there are many instances when Bollywood has taken the center stage. Regional cinemas have a stronger grip on its audience because of its good script, story but unfortunately never share the same stage.
Sharing the concern over the equal screening time for the regional cinema to The Times of India, Parambrata Chatterjee said. “It is at times difficult for even Bengali films to get show time in Bengal because big halls give preference to Bollywood. Hindi is not only national cinema and if so then what about regional cinema? If these things continue then very soon, regional cinema will wipe out.”
It is to be noted here that this year during Durga puja four big Bengali films were suppose to release but they didn’t get proper hall as Bollywood film War was also releasing at that time. It was with intervention of the government and directors, halls gave them time and the films were released.
On the work front, Parambrata Chatterjee’s latest release ‘Sagardwipey Jawker Dhan’ is performing doing well at the box office. The film is on a treasure hunt. Koel Mallick and Gaurav Chakrabarty are also in the lead role in the film.
