Abhijaan: Jisshu Sengupta Talks About His Next Film On Soumitra Chatterjee

Actor cum director Parambrata Chatterjee had announced his next film ‘Abhijaan’ which is also very close to his heart. The film is a biopic on the veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee. The announcement of the film has made movie buffs excited. The film features Jisshu Sengupta, Paoli Dam, Qaushiq Mukherjee, Rudranil Ghosh and Sohini Sarkar in the pivotal role.
Jisshu Sengupta, who will be essaying young Soumitra part, shares his thoughts about the film. He said, “Soumitra Chatterjee is a superstar and I am trying to capture his life.”
Talking about his film and why he opted for making a film on Soumitra Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee had said, “His life many layers which not many know about. He is a poet, playwright, stage actor. There are many aspects which the films had not covered and we intend to cover them. In the film, Soumitra Chatterjee will be seen as a poet, stage actor, playwright and what he thinks about being an artiste.”

Meanwhile, Jisshu Sengupta will be next seen in Shakuntala Devi’. The film will be releasing on Amazon Prime. The news is shared by actor Jisshu Sengupta on his Instagram handle. The film stars Vidya Balan and Sanyan Malhotra in the pivotal role. Jisshu will be essaying Vidya Balan’s husband role in a biopic based on Shakuntala Devi or human-computer.
