After a fulfilling journey as an actor, Akshay forayed
into film production and founded Hari Om Productions in 2008 named after his
father Hari Om. The production house aimed at working with new directors
and giving India some world-class cinema. The banner has co-produced
several hit films such as Singh Is Kinng (2008), OMG – Oh My God (2012),
Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty (2014) and Airlift (2016) among others.
Wife Twinkle Khanna, known for her crackling humour and witty comebacks is
following suit and is all set to launch her production house – Mrs Funnybones
Movies. On January 1, 2017, Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to make the
announcement about Twinkle’s first project – Padman. This story is
inspired by Arunachalam Muruganantha, who is better known as India’s
menstruation man. He has campaigned extensively for menstrual hygiene in rural
India. While R Balki will direct the film, Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and
Radhika Apte will feature in it.

The Badshah of
Bollywood co-founded Red Chillies Entertainment along with wife Gauri Khan in
2002. Main Hoon Na (2004) that featured SRK, Zayed Khan, Amrita Rao and
Sushmita Sen in pivotal roles was the studio’s first theatrical release. Since
then, the production house has doled out a number of films such as Om Shanti Om
(2007), RA.One (2011), Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New Year (2014) among
others.
Aamir

Aamir Khan, who
has left an indelible mark on Indian cinema with his acting chops, was
initially reluctant to dabble in film production as he has seen his father
(Tahir Hussain) struggle with it. However, in an interview, he confessed that
it was Ashutosh Gowariker’s script of Lagaan that compelled him to turn
producer. The film was not only Aamir Khan Productions’ first release, but also
India’s official entry to the Oscars.
Kiran Rao is an
integral part of Aamir Khan Productions and has produced a number of films such
as Taare Zameen Par (2007), Peepli Live (2010), Dhobi Ghat (2010), Delhi Belly
(2011) and Dangal (2016) among others under the banner.
Sanjay Dutt –

While Sanjay Dutt
has produced films like Shortcut: The Con Is On (2010) and Rascals (2011)
in the past under his name, it’s only recently that wife Maanayata launched his
film production company Sanjay Dutt Productions Pvt Ltd. Maanayata is the CEO
and the first film under the banner will go on floors next month.
Sheetal Vinod

Sheetal and Bhavna are
India’s first couple to walk the untrodden path. To talk of Sheetal, he has won
a National Award and international awards for his debut film Dharm. He also
launched India's first film fund, which did films with Shahid, Amitabh
Bachchan, Surya, Shatrugan Sinha and Pankaj Kapur among others. The talented
producer was the first producer to produce films such as Joneses, Eichmann
Show, Broken etc. Bhavna, on the other hand, is India's first female director
to work on a major international film with well known stars like Bill Nighy,
Helen Backsindale and Mark Williams on a remake of Heidi.
R Balki - Gauri Shinde

R Balki turned producer with wife Gauri Shinde’s directorial debut, English Vinglish (2012). He has since produced films like Shamitabh (2015), Ki & Ka (2016) and Dear Zindagi (2016). Gauri, on the other hand, debuted as a producer with Dear Zindagi which features Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt in lead roles.
Raj Kundra - Shilpa Shetty

It’s been long since Shilpa Shetty was seen in a full-fledged movie role. However, she hasn’t been away from the film world. Apart from being a regular on TV, she has also dabbled in film production and produced Dishkiyaoon (2014) alongside her husband Raj Kundra. Raj has also produced films like It Could Be You (2005) and Strangers (2007).
