Bollywood movies based on the lives
of Indian soliders have always made their mark in the minds of the
audience.
On the occasion of the 17th
Kargil Vijay Diwas today, we can't help but mention a few.
'Border' was one of the most iconic films
based on 1971 Indo-Pak war. This film by JP Dutta broke all box office records.
The film had a huge star cast comprising Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty and Akshay
Khanna.
Next came, 'LOC Kargil'. JP Dutta carried his legacy of making war-films when
he directed this one. Based on the 1999 Indo-Pak war, the movie saw Saif Ali
Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn and Suniel Shetty.
'Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyon' was another big war film. It was directed
by Anil Sharma and starred Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Bobby Deol. The
film was based on the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
'Lakshya' starring Preity Zinta and Hrithik Roshan was an inspiring tale. The
movie was a huge hit and it was successful in catching the imagination of an entire
generation of youth.
