He discusses his
favourites, including the song Badtameez Dil, his biggest hit Galliyaan and the
songs of Roy.
Reminiscing on
his journey in Bollywood, Ankit
said, “I always wanted to come
to Mumbai to pursue my musical dreams. But I never thought that God had planned
such things for me,” he said.
Ankit’s first
project was with
Pradeep Sarkar, but the movie was shelved. But then the two teamed up for
jingles and that bagged him a song in Do Dooni Chaar(2010). It was Habib Faisal
who offered him the project. Then Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster happened.
Ankit’s third
project was Aashiqui 2 and in the video he fondly remembers the first meeting with the film’s team.
“I think something special had happened for Aashiqui 2.
I think great
souls were working together for the project,” he added. The Sun Raha Hai Na Tu
singer also said that fortunately no one compared the music of Aashiqui 2 with
the first instalment.
Music was in Ankit’s blood as his parents were great singers. He learnt How to
play different instruments but always stayed away from singing due to stage
fear.
The singer-composer also goes on to say that people often forget the names of
the technicians associated with the songs. “People remember the person on screen, the singer
and at times the composer. We often forget the sound engineers,
technicians and the other people involved. To make a track, a lot of team
effort is put in,” emphasised Ankit.
