Producer Aanand L Rai’s last
release Happy Bhag Jayegi received a positive response. But looks like his
other production Manmarziyan, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar,
won’t have a ‘happy’ ending.
SpotboyE.com has it that Rai
is growing increasingly tired of the several glitches that the film has faced
ever since its inception. So much so that we hear, he has decided to shelve the
love triangle.
You might recall that the
film was announced in January this year with Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana
director Sameer Sharma as the captain of the ship. However, in March, Rai
ousted Sameer from the project. Turns out, Rai was not at all satisfied with
the rushes that were shot during the first schedule in Shimla and Amritsar.
It was then that he brought
Nil Battey Sannata director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari on board. Buzz was, they would
resume shooting the film in late July. However, the movie was delayed once
again in August – this time, Team Manmarziyan claimed that major portions of
the movie were scheduled to be shot in North India and heavy rains in the
northern states played spoilsport (Aanand L Rai puts Ayushmann-Bhumi’s
Manmarziyan on hold, Aug 1). Rumours were rife that Ayushmann had abandoned the
project but Ashwini denied them.
Now, exasperated by the
constant hindrances, Rai has taken the final call of shelving the film.
