Former India Cricketer Yuvraj Singh has ringed in his birthday today and instead of celebrating this special day to full glory, he dedicated this day to the farmers who are going through a difficult time for a very long time after the government passed the farm bill which was not accepted by the farmers. With the ongoing tiff between the farmers and government, many stars from the entertainment industry extended support to them and stood in solidarity. This time, Singh dedicated his birthday to the farmers while wishing to see a resolution between them. He took to his Instagram account and released an official statement mentioning what he desires and wishes on his birthday.
"Birthdays are an opportunity to fulfil a wish or desire and this birthday, rather than celebrating, I only wish and pray for a swift resolution of the ongoing talks between our farmers and our government" his note read which was shared on Instagram at the stroke of midnight. Terming farmers as the 'lifeblood of the nation', Yuvraj Singh wished for a peaceful dialogue between the agitating farmers and the governments, "Undoubtedly, farmers are the lifeblood of our nation and I truly believe that there is no problem which cannot be resolved through peaceful dialogue."
Yuvraj Singh also mentioned that he has distanced himself from the remarks that his father Yograj Singh made which were about endorsing the sportspersons returning their awards to support the agitation. He wrote, "I am saddened and upset by the statements made by Mr Yograj Singh. I wish to clarify that his remarks have been made in an individual capacity and my ideologies are not the same in any manner."
Later, Yuvraj concluded his note by urging everyone to continue taking precautions to fight against COVID-19 as the pandemic is not over yet.
