Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal has made a comeback and how! The Indian origin fighter returned once again to the ring after almost a year-long hiatus due to his injury. But it looks like he is now back in top shape and made a statement by defeating Cruiserweight Champion Akira Tozawa in his return match on RAW. Jinder Mahal held the WWE Champion title for 170 days back in 2017, from May to November. This week’s Monday Night Raw was his first appearance on WWE since June 2019.
Jinder Mahal was last seen in the Super ShowDown event in the 50-man battle royal and had suffered a knee injury, for which he had to undergo a surgery that required a recovery period of 6 to 12 months. In June In 2019, the Maharaja successfully underwent the injury to repair a patellar tendon rupture. Sharing about his surgery back then, Jinder had taken to his Instagram and wrote, “On the mend. Ruptured my Patella Tendon in Denver Colorado June 15 in a match against @aliwwe . Happy to say the surgery went well, and my knee was better than expected. This comeback is going to be legendary.”
And legendary, it was! The news of his complete recovery was being speculated since the last few weeks and now that he finally appeared on television, he seemed to have undergone a few changes in his physical appearance. With shorter hair this time, he can be seen with a much fitter physique.
Jinder Mahal had signed a second contract with WWE in June, 2019, of 5 years. He had shot to fame after he defeated Randy Orton to become the US’ WWE Champion. ALSO READ: WWE RAW: Shayna Baszler Bites Becky Lynch On Her Neck, Grabs A Piece Of Her Mass – VIDEO
