Former WWE champion, The Great Khali’s mother Tandi Devi breathed her last on Sunday. She reportedly died due to multiple organ failure at Ludhiana’s Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). She was 75. In a press release to India Today, the hospital said, “Wrestler Khali’s mother passes away due to multiple organ failure at Ludhiana’s DMC hospital.”
Reportedly, Khali’s mother was suffering from breathing issues for the past two years. Earlier she was being treated at a private hospital in Jalandhar. Last week, she was shifted to Ludhiana and was put on a ventilator. Her last rites will be performed on Monday at Khali’s native village Dhiraina in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh. As soon as the news of Khali's mother's death broke out, heartfelt condolences started pouring in. While offering his respects, Former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav tweeted, “My heartfelt condolences to Dalip Singh Rana, The Great Khali @greatkhali, on the sudden demise of his mother, Tandi Devi ji. May her soul rest in peace.”

For the unversed, Dilip Singh Rana, popularly known as The Great Khali, made his professional wrestling debut in 2000. Prior to that, he had worked as an officer for the Punjab Police. During his WWE career, he also notched the title of WWE champion.
To note, Khali had also appeared in four Hollywood films and two Bollywood films.
